Ellie is a writer, yoga teacher and tea devotee and she created Positivitea as a means to self-heal and recover balance in her life after being made redundant and going freelance. The happy outcome of this creative process was making the chakras more accessible to others in the form of a simple, thoughtful and ultimately delicious range of teas.
I have Ganesha above my desk watching over me and pushing me forward – he is the remover of obstacles and as any small business owner knows there are plenty of them peppered in your path! I tend to listen to business or self help audiobooks to inspire me and I always have a cup of tea (of course) on the go.
The most important piece of advice I have received (and you will receive a lot of advice as soon as you start out on your own, sometimes it can be overwhelming and you almost wish you had a filter!) as an entrepreneur is that persistence is the only thing that pays off in the long run. You will get lots of knock backs, have to overcome lots of hurdles and question your self-belief almost daily but if you can keep the fear at bay and keep pushing forward the universe will repay you for your tenacity. Oh and always go with your gut!
Protecting the environment is important to us, and our customers, so we work with FSC recyclable packaging and biodegradable cornstarch bags. Giving back is also close to my heart so we support The Darjeeling Children’s Trust. The trust aims to improve the lives of children and young people in Darjeeling through education, training and better living conditions.
